This adorably cute one year old female child was added to our list of waiting children just today!

This female child was born in October 2015.  She listens to words and reacts to sounds, interacting with those around her and wanting to be around other adults and children.  She has started to pronounce certain syllables and use short words to communicate.  When asked, she will try to accomplish simple commands.  Diagnosed with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, she does have a deformation of her lower limbs and head.  She has some active movements of her left leg but no active movements in the right.  Currently, she can catch a toy and hold it in her hand, raise her head when she is lying on her back, and she will try to straighten her torso from a mid-lying position to a sitting position.  At age 11 months she started sitting on her own; however, she easily gets tired from the activity.  Emotionally speaking, she recognizes those who care for her and is described as an overall calm child.

Her adoption will require international travel. If you would like more information please contact the KidsFirst office and ask for Inna Pecar at 317-843-2300. We are typically able to provide many pictures, a medical certificate and psychological report, as well as other documentation, about our waiting children.
