Duties: The Adoption Supervisor works closely with the Executive Director to manage all aspects of the agency, including the domestic and international adoption programs.

  • Attend weekly and quarterly staff meetings

  • Complete the home study process (psycho social assessment) with prospective adoptive families which includes office meetings and home visits

  • Conduct background checks and review information pertaining to the prospective adoptive parents

  • Assess the parents’ readiness to adopt

  • Complete post adoption services with adoptive families which includes home visits

  • Write home study and post adoption reports

  • Keep appropriate records according to the agency and state licensing standards

  • Ensure agency compliance with state licensing regulations and conduct licensing site visits.

  • Ensure agency compliance with Hague Accreditation regulations

  • Dossier preparation for international adoption

  • Assist families with completing the USCIS process

  • Educate adoptive families regarding the adoption process, parenting, child development, and post adoption matters

  • Maintain employee files- assist with employee orientation and new hire paperwork/background checks, conduct ongoing employee training

  • Coordinate the agency’s domestic adoption program- maintain files, provide assistance to birth parents, create relinquishment paperwork, assist with signing and file with the courts

  • Coordinate the agency’s international adoption program- maintain files, complete COA reports, maintain service plans for families

  • Maintain a Waiting Child list and provide advocacy

  • Operate agency’s social media

  • Asist families with the re-adoption process- complete paperwork and file with the courts

  • Maintain deposit records and accounting

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in social work or a related field

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to conduct home visits throughout the State

  • Experience in foster care, child welfare system, or adoption

  • Individual must be detail oriented with exceptional writing skills

  • Required to complete agency’s training and background checks

  • Ability to establish appropriate boundaries with clients

  • Empathy, honesty, and professionalism
