I think it is awfully important to find a way to stay in touch with you, to keep you updated and to let you know what what is happening at KidsFirst. First of all, thank you for being our friends on Facebook and for spreading the word about the things we do.
Many of you know that we are working with Ukraine and Bulgaria and we do domestic adoption presently. We have so many older children and sibling groups who are waiting in Bulgaria. We also have a number of younger children from Bulgaria with special needs such as Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Spina Bifida, etc. We very much appreciate you sharing our Featured Child posts via social media and with your friends.
One of our KidsFirst Foundation Board Members shared that a radio station in New York City was featuring a child in need every week. I thought that was a brilliant idea, and we talked about reaching out to different churches and asking a pastor to feature a child or a sibling group once a week during their service. This is just a thought, but there are so many churches which have very active adoption ministries. Please, help us to connect with your communities and give us your thoughts and ideas on that.
We also need your help in spreading the word to mothers who choose adoption for their child. We are looking to connect with hospitals, social workers, schools, probation officers, prisons, counseling and addiction centers, teen programs, churches, etc., so that we can share with them the services we provide. Again, if you have suggestions, ideas, resources, or a desire to be involved, please let me know.
I feel like we have such an incredible pool of knowledge and passion in our adoptive families, we absolutely need your input. If you know a friend or someone who is interested and passionate in advocacy for children, please forward this information to them as well.
Please stay in touch and share your ideas. Big hugs to all of you!
