+ We are so glad to have Inna back in the office! The Pecar family spent time in July visiting family and traveling to Europe together

+ Brooke recently returned from the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) annual conference in Kansas City. She was a speaker again this year for the third year in a row.

+ Brooke will be leading an Adoption in the Classroom seminar at the KidsFirst offices on September 10th for teachers and parents. As your family heads back to school, we encourage you to invite your children's teachers and administrators to this free seminar. RSVP and find more information on Facebook

+ Another wonderful opportunity for parents is the Empowered to Connect Conference. Show Hope is co-sponsoring the Empowered to Connect Conference near Washington, DC, on September 12-13, 2014. This two-day conference features Dr. Karyn Purvis of Texas Christian University, a leading expert in the field of research-based interventions for children from hard places. It will be an invaluable experience for parents and professionals who seek to provide hope and healing to children who have been adopted or are fostered, and their families.

Cost: Registration is $55/individual OR $70/married-couple

*Special offer:  All registrations will be an additional ½ off for a limited number of seats, thanks to a generous donation from Focus on the Family. Use the promotional code:  FOCUSGUEST when registering online.

Additionally, the Empowered to Connect conference is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886649357-2610) for 11 Social Work continuing education contact hours.  The discount code is also available to workers wishing to attend the event.

+ The waiting child we are featuring this week appears to be a cheerful boy with a slight delay in development. It is suggested that he has good potential for further development in a family environment. He prefers to interact with adults and enjoys helping with household chores. Could you or someone you know be the family that he is waiting for?

If you would like more information about this potential international adoption, please contact Inna at 317-843-2300. Waiting children may be older, part of a sibling group, or have some special need - medical or emotional. All of these children deserve a family.
